Block and Lot designations
Gray was plotted while the railroad was being surveyed. The first maps we have are dated 1913 - the year the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway started running through our area. Originally there were four divisions (Blocks 1-4) and then lots measured in 25' or 50' widths. Blocks 5 and 6 were added in 1937 and 3rd Avenue lots in 1979.
Construction was beginning as early as 1911 as referenced by the building of the first store and businesses necessary (like the lumberyards) for a new community to thrive.
