Gray CemeteryEstablished 1923 just south of town. A local ladies group - The Homemakers - purchased the land for the cemetery from Bill Greenslade - $150. They also paid for the upkeep, including fencing and tree planting.
A Williamson baby was the first burial. Mr. A. Marty (blacksmith) built the little casket. The Gray Cemetery title was transferred to the Gray United Church in 1954. The original ‘plans’ have been discovered and volunteers are hopeful that one day the project will be completed as originally mapped. A central driveway with a landscaped turn-around. |
