Children's groupsThere have been a few over the years. Depending on the kid's interests (and whatever the leaders are willing to devote time to) - Messengers, Scouts, 4H, whatever.

Curling/BonspielsSeveral successful 'rinks' have hailed from the area.
The annual bonspiel was a busy week for the whole community to get involved. |
Figure Skating/CarnivalsThere were figure (and power) skating lessons each winter (1960's-90's) that culminated in a 'carnival' - costumes, thematic decor and performances. A lot of hours spent at the rink.

HockeyThe rink was always the happening venue for the winter months. No local league team play anymore, but lots of pick-up hockey.

Ladies groupsLadies Aid, Homemakers, UCW (United Church Women). Local events were supported by these groups - fundraising for charity.

Masonic Lodge #176In 1923, the Masonic Gray Lodge was granted its Charter. The Gray Lodge amalgamated with Milestone in 1982.

Softball/FastballLocal men's and women's Fastball/Softball teams were popular. The Estlin 306's had much success.

306 Sports Hall of FameYou may want to visit the #306 Sports Hall of Fame (located in the rink) to see the honored athletes (some from the sports/activities mentioned above) from our area. Inductee list includes athletes and builders that have won Olympic gold, Stanley Cups, national and provincial championships. Members represent the communities along #306 highway.
